„Reading this book, I remember meeting an Egyptian monk who spent 20 years as a hermit. He answered my questions very briefly, with infinite simplicity, transparency, definiteness. His words reached to my heart. I still keep them in my heart.

Fr Calvo, past his golden priestly anniversary, having given himself totally to the spiritual care of families, has summarized the experiences of a whole lifetime. He writes with such simplicity, transparency, with such insight of depths that only the wise have.

This book is by an author who knows and loves people of today. He knows that they are nervous, impatient, hardly able to read long, deep books, but who are equally interested in truth, in the reality of their lives as people of the past, who had the patience to read long philosophies.

At the same time, this book is also a surprise for me. Gabriel Calvo is the forefather of those promoting family communication in our Church, and yet, it seems as if in this book he were suggesting his readers making a monologue. However, this book is also about communication.

If I am not conscious about who I am, if I cannot answer the basic questions of life, if the contents of my faith are unclear, if my decision for God the Holy Trinity is uncertain - am I really myself? Is there anyone to communicate with others?

This book can be especially helpful also for single persons, for those waiting to be married, and for those who are actually preparing for marriage. It is a great gift if these existential questions can be cleared within us before we join our lives with someone else. If the questions which the author faces us are not cleared in us, our personal lives and our relationships are built upon drifting sand.

I wish that this book may lead as many of my brothers and sisters as possible closer to God and to themselves, so that they can more deeply relate to those with whom they constitute one family..

I hope that readig and sharing on this book will animate the inner unity of our couples’, youth and adults’ groups."

"God created man and woman to give meaning, life and love to the universe. He created marriage "to His image and likeness", and God is not a circle. He is the spiraling foundation of Life and Love.

The quest for happiness in marriage demands that you expand your vision and perspective beyond your marital relationships. You are challenged by today's society to stop being a selfish and isolated married couple. And you are called by the Creator to depart from your conjugal and family love, and go towards the universal love.

You, as a married couple, have been born to become a loving spiral of love!"
